Dear lady, before you fall for me, know that I am flawed.
I’m not the image you see via my poetry, I’m more than that.
People are not poetry, and that applies to me too.
It is easy to fall for my goodness, to believe that I’m like chocolate,
But you forget that every light holds within it, the ability to become darkness.

Dear lady, before you fall for me, know that I am weak.
I’m not the image of strength you see when I lend you my strength, I’m more than that.
You should know that I’ve been known to know what is right and still do what I should not, because I’m weak. Look beyond this form I show, see the me you do not know.

Dear lady, before you fall for me, know that iAm dark.
I know you think I’m light because I’m intent on being the light that removes the darkness from your soul, but do not be deceived; only those who’ve seen true darkness can appreciate the beauty of being light.

Dear lady, before you fall for me, know that I’m ugly.
I know you see beauty when you look at me, but remember that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. I’m in pain, I’ve been so for years and pain has turned me from a handsome prince into a beast.
Would you be my beauty?
